Dan Ladd: Another era in sporting licenses about to begin in New York

DEC is changing things up regarding printed tags and most recently announced a proposed option of having either the license issuing agent or the DEC themselves print licenses, and especially carcass tags, for sportsmen on plain paper. (Stock photo)

We’re about a month away from entering yet another new era in regard to sporting licenses in New York. When they go on sale for the 2024-25 seasons, which is typically in early August, it will now be up to sportsmen to decide not so much how, but who will print your licenses.
Two ongoing topics we covered in the June 28 edition relate to this.
