The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation is in charge of the state-owned campgrounds in the Catskills and Adirondacks. Among them are a handful that are scattered upon lakes from Old Forge to Blue Mountain Lake in the central Adirondacks.
One of those is on Lake Durant, just three miles east of the hamlet of Blue Mountain Lake.
