Star Watch: Spica, a binary star
Scientists tell us that the 16th brightest star in our night sky is a “Binary”consisting of two separate stars close together and orbiting rapidly around each other. “Close together” is actually about 12 million miles, but that’s like next door when you’re talking about distances between stars in space.
