The Park Falls DNR fish management team ran fyke netting and electro-fishing surveys in fall 2011 and spring 2012 to assess the abundance and size structure of fish populations in Cranberry Lake.
They set fyke nets for four nights in October 2011, then set more fyke nets in early April 2012, followed by electrofishing runs in May 2012, sampling 4 miles of shoreline. That survey work revealed that Cranberry’s fish community was comprised of at least 11 species, and has changed substantially over two decades.
